It’s all about location lady. I found a place – Nickerson Beach – that has nesting colonies of Oystercatchers, Black Skimmers, Terns, and Plovers. I highly suggest you check it out for yourself next spring and summer. JK.
Where is Nickerson Beach? Is it along the Discovery Tour route? Elaine found a whole bunch of the birds nesting on the early July cruise!
Nickerson Beach blows the Discovery Tour away. There’s no comparison. It’s in the town of Long Beach in Nassau County. You have to get there before 9 AM to beat paying for parking which is a ridiculous 35 dollars. https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/2802/Nickerson-Beach-Park
