  1. Ohhhh! BEAUTIFUL!!!!
What a wonderful sighting –and you captured it for us! Thanks!

  2. Are you worried about social distancing? 🙂
This fox was about forty to fifty feet away, but I got much closer to some others. Within ten feet on one occasion. It was pretty magical, if a bit pungent. Foxes have a strong scent. JK.

  3. You have a VERY good camera!
I had one come up to my car when I called to it late one night. I was driving home on 25A, maybe around 11 pm, and, Lo! There up ahead in the middle of the road was a fox! I stopped and we stared at each other. I had my window down and made call sounds, never expected him to respond, and he came over! He came over by the side of my car and we just looked at each other. Then another car started to come down the road and he went off into the woods. I wouldn’t have done anything more than just look at him anyway, but it was so magical to have a few quiet moments alone with a fox. SO wonderful!

  4. There is something truly special about foxes. I’m not sure what it is, but it’s real and it matters to those of us who have been lucky enough to meet them.
Do you know of Copper, at Sweetbriar Nature Center? He’s a (very) old man now, but back in the day it was one of my chores to sit with him for an hour or more each day to acclimate him to us humans. He was just a pup back then, but skittish. Every time, he would circle me in ever tightening loops till he’d finally take my outstretched hand in his mouth. He never bit, not once, it seemed he was only getting a feel for me.
Copper is a grand old man now, but I will never forget those early days I got to spend with him. JK.

  5. Oh WOW! That sounds absolutely MAGICAL! I count the animated version of Robin Hood among my favorite movies and I always loved that Robin Hood was a fox. 🙂 How old is Copper now? I don’t think I have ever met him, but to pet a fox or be mouthed by one…..that is special! I have been mouthed by many a beagle, but never a fox.
