I was just as surprised to see this Great Blue Heron as he was to see me. Last Sunday was my first day back on the water. I came across this guy after only ten minutes on Carmans River. I hope that’s a good sign for the season. I was on the Carmans a total of three times this past week. It’s great being back on the water. I’ll post more shots soon. JK
Great one Joe!
…what a wonderful photo! Catching the angle of the eyes is very cool.
Thanks Mr. Fitz. Thanks Kelly. This shot was mostly luck. I was exploring a small stream off the main part of the river when I went around a bend and – boom – this guy was preening himself only eight feet away. He looked up as I started shooting. As for the angle, well, he stands taller than I do sitting in my kayak. The Blues have have those great big golden eyes that are such a pleasure to capture in full daylight. They seem to fill up with the sun. JK
…hope your luck keeps up, and I like a bit of it!
What an expression!
I think I had the same one on my face. JK
