A Green Heron at Rest

Wednesday, July, 8, 2020,

These are a pair of photos of a Green Heron at Frank Melville Park. It is taking a rest from fishing. It could be that he is full, or perhaps, that he has decided to let me take some decent photographs of him Either way, I am not complaining.  JK.

  1. Beautiful shot, Joe!
The Green Heron is a wonderful subject. Clever birds that I can easily spend hours observing. It was great seeing you at Melville Park the other day. Glad all is well.
    Best regards,
    Jennifer

  2. Thank you Jennifer. And thanks for stopping in at Joe Kayaker.
It was great to see you as well. Yes, the Green Heron is a lovely bird to watch, although it can easily disappear into foliage with those colors, despite how large it is. Last week, I saw one of them bringing sticks to that little island at Frank Melville Park so, hopefully, they will try nesting there again this year.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed. JK.

  3. BEAUTIFUL!!!
    Lovely, lovely shots!
( Did you ask him if he knew Raoul, perchance? )

  4. Thanks Michele. I’m afraid I failed to question this bird as I was in awe of its beauty. JK.
