Splish splash I was taking a bath
In a pretty puddle last week
In the middle of the park
And happy as a lark
Just me, as free as could be
I was soaking, there’s no joking
Bathing but behaving
The water was so soothing
Got me into grooving
Thought about some singing
And the crowd that might be bringing
I really wanted to sing out
But there were birders all about
Decided to keep quiet
And thus avoid the riot
I thought I was alone
But a sight did make me groan
A bald guy took a photo
And me just thinking “Oh no”
Why can’t they let me be?
My feathers are too messy
Don’t need no one to see me
Till I’m looking pretty.

You can take over for Horace when he retires. 😉
The action shots are sharp and unusual, which makes them all the more refreshing — even if you had to disturb the poor bird’s privacy to get them. I love his scruffiness in the first one and all the splashing in the second especially!
High praise indeed, although I would prefer to wait a looong time for Horace to retire.
Also, I didn’t actually disturb the Robin during his bath. I was pretty far off. I just took artistic license with my song. JK.
Well……..as long as he didn’t really see you. I mean, jeez, can a bird have no privacy?!
It’s not like I was peering into any windows. JK.
When someone goes skinny-dipping, it’s usually because he checked to make sure he was ALONE first.
We must know different people. 🙂 JK.
