A Painted Turtle on a Gloomy Day

Friday, November 13, 2020,

Look, you can’t always pick your shots. This Eastern Painted Turtle was one of the few possible subjects that sat still long enough for me to grab a photo of on this very dark day that threatened rain at any moment. As it happens, the threat proved real but at least I was able to grab this shot. Mother Nature was cutting me a break. JK.

  1. It’s got a neat artistic composition. Don’t be too hard on yourself, Joe Kayaker. Just hard enough, but not too hard. πŸ˜‰

  2. Surprisingly enough, this photo went over very well on Facebook. I’m not exactly sure why. It was even chosen as the cover photo of the day in the biggest Facebook group I belong to. I’m not complaining but it sure does make it plain that I, as a photographer, do not always know what the public will like. I am very happy to be wrong in this case. JK.

  3. There’s a very artistic sense to it. The reflection has much to do with it, I think.
