A Swan in Autumn

Tuesday, November 12, 2019,

This is a photo of a Mute Swan resting near the edge of the freshwater pond at Morton Refuge in Sag Harbor. This Swan is obviously aware of my presence but it’s just not worried about me. That was very cool as it allowed me frame him with those lovely yellow Autumn tinged leaves. May I suggest clicking on each of these images? You’ll get to view larger versions of these photographs. Red Maple Leaves in Autumn

Monday, November 4, 2019,

I took a drive out to Morton Refuge last week. I imagine that most folks go there for the birds and the pure magic of feeding them by hand. I certainly do. It’s also a great place for avian photo ops. I just checked and this is my seventy-sixth post about Morton. Only Avalon Preserve and Frank Melville Park have garnered more posts that this wonderful refuge. Again, I go there mostly for the birds, but on this trip I took more photographs of the changing leaves than anything else. There were just so many beautiful leaves. Here on Long Island, we get many different colors on our trees. I think the reds are my favorites. JK
