In an earlier post I mentioned that Mergansers have serrated bills. All the better to catch those little fishes with, my dear. In this close-up you can see that bill fairly well. No teeth, no problem. These choppers look like they do the job just fine. JK

This rainbow was in the skies above Carmans River on July 25th, a little after noon. It was a bit unusual in that it didn’t seem to arc. It was more or less a straight line. I went searching for the mythical pot of gold anyway. No luck, no gold, but I did get a few decent pics that day. JK
